MaraTech Engineering Services’ founder and President, Peter Maravelias, is a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel.   He served as Program Manager for several major command and control system developments.  He was Program Manager for the North American Air Defense (NORAD) Command Center and Air Defense Operations Center in Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado from 1986 through 1989.  Colonel Maravelias was selected as leader to make improvements to the aging command and control system during the first Persian Gulf War (1990/1991).   Colonel Maravelias introduced the latest technologies to the tactical environment deployed to the Persian Gulf.  He personally deployed the latest Air Situation system to the Air Command Center in Saudi Arabia.  Colonel Maravelias also served as Director of the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie-Mellon University.  Earlier in his Air Force career, he served as a Comptroller.

Since his retirement from the Air Force in 1991, Peter established himself as a reliable small businessman who provides quality services at reasonable prices.  MaraTech is a designated Service Disabled-Veteran Owned Small Business.   Professional integrity is instilled in each MaraTech employee. We listen to your requirements and we deliver!  MaraTech actively supports the hiring of veterans.

Some of MaraTech’s most recent projects include work for the United States Air Force at Hanscom AFB, MA.  We supported the Air Forces’ Command and Control Product Lines (CCPL) program.   The CCPL program was an Air Force initiative to reduce the cost of Command & Control (C2) programs.  We currently provide systems engineering services for the Joint Expeditionary Forces Experiment (JEFX).   MaraTech has also provided engineering services to the Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Product Area since November 1993.  MaraTech also provides Advisory and Assistance services for management and professional support services; studies, analyses and evaluations; and engineering and technical services in support of the Battle Management Systems Wing.

MaraTech also developed Windows applications for the Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission (PERAC).   There were three primary applications developed - the Disability Application, the Calculation Verification Application, and the WageMatch Application.  These applications provide for the actuarial valuation and statistical analysis of the 106 Massachusetts public employee retirement systems.

MaraTech has developed several Web Sites and E-Commerce sites for varied clients.  Depending upon the client requirements, various development tools were used.

MaraTech has also developed a Point of Sale system.  Our PointOfSale (POS) Software is a comprehensive point of sale system designed to be customized for small to large-sized retail businesses. The system is composed of six related components that are integrated into a user-friendly environment. The six major components are:

- Customer Point Of Sale         - Inventory

- Reports                               - Mail

MaraTech operates the Contractor Operated Civil Engineer Supply Store (COCESS) located on Hanscom Air Force Base, MA.  We acquire, issue, deliver, and store a variety of material, equipment, parts, tools, and supplies for construction, facility maintenance, and repair of government facilities.  MaraTech is using its own PointOfSale system in COCESS.

MaraTech is responsible for all Environmental Protection Services at Hanscom AFB, to include compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.  MaraTech’s scope of work includes the HAZMAT Pharmacy, Restoration, Compliance, Pollution Prevention, and Conservation programs.  As a result of MaraTech’s diligent efforts, the Environmental Engineering Office at Hanscom AFB has been recognized as the ‘Best Environmental Flight’ in the Air Force for 1996 and the ‘Best Environmental Flight’ in Air Force Material Command for 1998.  In 1999 the office received an Honorable Mention in the White House Closing the Circle Award for Outstanding Contribution in Waste Prevention and Recycling.  In 2002 the office received the White House Closing the Circle Award for Environmental Preferability.  MaraTech’s team has developed comprehensive environmental policy and plans in pollution prevention, wastewater issues and water quality, air quality, hazardous material management, alternative fuels, and natural resources.
